Raveendran Master was a legendary composer. Each and every song or tune from had his magical touch. "Paalnilavile Pavan Ithal"  -  a song from the Malayalam Movie Butterflies is one of those rare songs I heard long before I took to music for my career. The song evokes a special emotion which cannot be clarly defined - maybe its longing, love, melancholy or grief.  Vira Burmenko, is an award winning artist, Violinist and Composer from Toronto, Ontario.  Last year I was included in World's Top Electric String Players . After watching it, Vira asked me for a Podcast interview which gave me some time to reflect upon my journey as an artist. I was really glad to share my experiences. Gaana Gandharvan K J Yesudas It is indeed a blessing to live in the same era as Yesudas Sir. Not a single day goes by without listening to or playing some of his songs. Capella is a genre of music that does not use instruments, but uses voice itself to emulate the sounds of instruments. A wide range of music genres has been attempted in this style and it definitely is challenging in terms of harmonizing. In a Symphony or Orchestra, Wind instruments, Bowed String instruments, Brass instruments, Percussion instruments are all included along with Vocals are played in harmony. The Symphony family is as large as seventy to hundred musicians. Pieces are specifically written and they are usually of longer duration than a song. In a Concerto, an instrument takes the lead with other musicians donning a supporting role. A Chamber orchestra is a smaller version of Symphony Orchestra with up to fifty musicians.
