Gaana Gandharvan K J Yesudas It is indeed a blessing to live in the same era as Yesudas Sir. Not a single day goes by without listening to or playing some of his songs. Wishing our dear Dasettan health, and happiness on this 81st birthday.  Here is a tribute video - A favorite lullaby sung by Dasettan - Kanne Kalaimane (Sur mein Akhiyon mein). The song won the Best Male Playback Singer Award by the Tamil Nadu State Awards.  It is Rohith Manoj on Guitar with me leading with the Violin .

The history and evolution of the instrument is equally intriguing.  Here I am sharing some interesting facts with you. Give it a read. ​ *History of Violin* Violin is said to be one of the best instruments to play, though it is equally tough. Origin of violin was during the time of 9th century in Europe or rather Asia. No body actually knows as to who invented this instrument. Violin came into limelight in the fifteenth century in Italy where violins were made in the town of Cremona in northern Italy. Violin took almost 450 years to bring it in the form what it looks like today. Violin is a sophisticated kind of string instrument. Violin has one musical bow as well as an arched stick where a string is strongly tied to its two ends. The string is separated by a bridge or loop.
